Gilbert Poissant is a major figure and renowned artist in the world of Québec ceramics. Throughout his life, he has continuously sought to deepen his understanding of his favourite material and the various ways of transforming it into singular works of art.

Developed from the gift of the artist’s personal archive of his public art, this exhibition is a journey through his creative evolution and seeks to impart his passion for ceramics. The abundance and variety of textures and colors is honoured in each of the objects presented, echoing those of the murals.

Public artworks are an essential component of Poissant’s career, and this exhibition aims to show the essential links between his studio and public artworks. To this end, related works and objects accompany each of the six murals.
